Obituary for John Edgar Wagner Jr.

John Edgar Wagner, Jr., age 85, of Union Bridge, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born May 26, 1932 on his family’s farm on Washington Road in Westminster, he was the son of the late John Edgar Sr. and Miriam Bankard Wagner. He was the husband of Pat Wagner, his wife of 34 years.
Mr. Wagner was an ordained minister with the Church of the Nazarene. He pastored a total 8 churches including Maryland, Kansas City, New York and Mexico.
He followed in his father’s footsteps in real estate, building and remodeling homes. He was the city manager for Newburgh, NY in the past. In his retired years he did missionary work with therapeutic riding in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and held Bible studies at the Westminster Senior Center.
He was predeceased by a son William Adams and is survived by children and spouses, David Wagner and Julie of New Paltz, NY, James Wagner & Nancy of Pine Bush, NY, Sean Adams and Lori of Marlboro, NY, Tracey Sloan and Jeff of Wayne, PA, and Jenny Lynn and Angela Wagner, both of Union Bridge; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 12 Noon at LifePoint Church, 1701 Emory Rd., Reisterstown, MD 21136. Pastor Joe Paschal will officiate. Family will greet guests starting at 11:00 a.m. After service you are invited to celebrate his life at Buttersburg Inn in Union Bridge, MD (please RSVP to Pat)
