Forrest Theodore "Ted" Roser Jr., age 59, of Keymar, died suddenly Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Born October 4, 1957 in Adams County, PA, he was the son of the late Forrest T. Roser Sr. and Frances Mehring Roser. He was the husband of Marion E. Roser, his wife of 16 years.
Ted was a 1975 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. In earlier years he was the owner of Roser's Variety Shop, then worked at Hickory Farms and Dollar General. More recently he was the zone manager of Spirit Halloween. He was a member of the Littlestown Eagles and the Frederick Moose. He supported the Terra Rubra Lions Club and Toop's Troops. He enjoyed helping other people, working with his hands, riding his Harley, "hanging out" with his grandchildren, building projects and listening to books on tape. He collected Coca-Cola memorabilia.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughter, Stacy L. Talbert and husband Nathan of Keymar; sons, Michael Roser and wife Cheryl of Keymar and Douglas W. Roser of Littlestown, PA; stepdaughters, Marana Butts and Katie Sutherland, both of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren; sisters, M. Joanne Airing and husband Rick of Charles Town, WV and Linda L. Bowers and husband Richard, of Keymar; brothers, Charles "Butch" Roser and wife Joyce and John C. Roser, all of Keymar; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Forrest T. "Teddy" Roser III; granddaughter Michaela Roser; sister-in-law, Kathi Roser and great niece, Katelyn Weatherly.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday, May 1.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2 at the Terra Rubra Lions Activities Building, 6300 Middleburg Rd., with Chaplain Charline Fowler of Toop's Troops, officiating.
A private inurnment will be held in Haugh's Cemetery, Ladiesburg, at the convenience of the family.
