Glenda Lind Warehime, 67, of New Windsor, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Carroll Hospital Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Feb. 28, 1945 in Canonsburg, PA, she was the daughter of Emma Jean Cowan Freil of Mt. Lebanon, PA and the late Glenn A. Freil. She was the wife of Ronald E. Warehime, to whom she would have been married for 40 years on April 22. Mrs. Warehime was a graduate of Indiana University in Pennsylvania in 1967 and Western Maryland College in 1973 with a Masters in Education. Since 1967 she was employed with Westminster Junior High, then Westminster High School as a mathematics teacher, retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, New Windsor, where she was formerly the church treasurer from 1980 to 2006, sang in the choir, was an assistant Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of a local Bible study group and the board of the Strawbridge Shrine Association. Glenda enjoyed needlework, reading, traveling, visiting Cape May, NJ and spending time with her grandson. She was an avid bridge player, an Orioles fan and a quilter, quilting with a group from St. Matthew's U.C.C. of Pleasant Valley. Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are daughter and son-in-law, Jennie & Ken Welsh of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law, Russell C. and Ginny Warehime of Glyndon; grandson, Christopher Welsh; brother and sister-in-law, William Scott and Charlotte Freil of Bridgeville, PA; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Windsor Station of the New Windsor Fire Company, 101 High Street, with Rev. Beverly Cotner, officiating. The family will receive friends at Windsor Station from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service. Private interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Linwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald E. Warehime, P.O. Box 414, New Windsor, MD 21776 to be used for Christopher's college fund (specify this on the memo line of the check) or Jumonville Retreat Center, 887 Jumonville Rd., Hopwood, PA 15445-9901.
