Sandy was a former member of the Westminster Soroptimist Club and a current member of Westminster Kiwanis Club, where she received the Hixson Fellowship Award in 2012; Carroll County Historical Society and Genealogy Society; and Blair County, PA Genealogy Society. She was a proud member of the Terrapin Club, as well as the Fastbreakers and Rebounders, which supported the men’s and ladies’ basketball teams of the University of Maryland.
