Obituary for Julia Forbes Jones Price

Julia Forbes Jones Price, left this world Sunday, November 19, 2017 to join the other Angel at a young, spirited age of 96. Born January 3, 1921 in Smithfield, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Felix Jones and Fannie Mae Forbes Jones.
Julia graduated from Ahoskie High School, then attended N.C.U.W. in North Carolina before moving to Washington, D.C. when she was 20. She graduated from Benjamin Franklin University with an accounting degree and also attended graduate school at the Department of Agriculture. After World War II she met her husband, William L. Price Sr., at a library and they enjoyed 67 wonderful years together.
She loved her family, being outdoors in the sun, going to the beach, working in the garden and yard, hiking on Skyline Drive in the fall, and traveling with her husband to visit family in NC, FL and TX. They were such a perfect couple together. She was always reading education and health information; she never stopped learning. She never backed down from a challenge; she would come into a room, rolling her sleeves up and asking “what can I do?” She was taught by her father to do, not just try and that she did which she passed down to her children and anyone she knew. She was loved by anyone who knew her.
Surviving are children, William Louis Price Jr. and wife Jo Ann of Ashburn, VA, Thomas Marshall Price and wife Linda and Julia Marie Davis and husband Lawrence, all of Union Bridge, Elizabeth Ann Rogers and husband Thomas of Silver Spring and Robert Wayne Price and wife Michelle of Gaithersburg; grandchildren, Shawn, Jason, Kevin, Kristen, Jared, Troy, Nathan, Charles, Mary, Joshua and Joseph; great grandchildren, Simon, Aaralyn and Colette; plus many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
