Obituary for Joseph Patrick DuBoyce

Joseph Patrick DuBoyce, age 53 of New Market, died suddenly Monday, August 7, 2017.
Born November 19, 1963 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Walter and Patricia Maguire DuBoyce. He was the husband of Melissa DuBoyce, his wife of 24 years.
Mr. DuBoyce was a graduate of Queen of Peace High School, New Jersey, Mount St. Mary’s University and the University of Maryland. He received his Master’s Degree in Irish history from Catholic University. He was employed with Montgomery County Public Schools for the past 30 years as a beloved history teacher and was currently in administration.
He was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Libertytown. He loved watching his children play sports and was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. He also enjoyed watching Turner classic movies, as well as listening to 70s music. Most of all he just loved spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children, Joshua Knepley and fiancée Stephanie, and Maura, Patrick, Anna, James and Tom DuBoyce; silbings, James DuBoyce and wife Dana, Patricia Bajkowski and husband Robert, and Mary Rose Hoffmann and husband Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home-Libertytown, 11802 Liberty Rd., Frederick on Thursday, August 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 9190 Church St., Union Bridge. Fr. Jason Worley will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 9190 Church St., Union Bridge, MD 21791.

THE LIBERTYTOWN VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY ANNUAL PARADE WILL BE HELD 7-8 PM AND MAIN STREET IN TOWN WILL BE CLOSED. ANYONE COMING FROM NEW MARKET SHOULD TURN LEFT ON ARTIE KEMP ROAD AND CONTINUE MAKING A RIGHT ON ROUTE 26. THE FUNERAL HOME WILL BE ON YOUR LEFT.
