Obituary for Harold Edward Myers

Harold Edward Myers, age 87, of Frederick, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Ballenger Creek Center, Frederick. Born June 1, 1930 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Benjamin William and Vallie Heiner Myers. He was the husband of Leila Shelton Myers.
Mr. Myers was formerly employed as a plumber with contractors in Frederick. He was a life member of the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Co. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, playing cards and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by son, Ronald Myers and companion Diana Bryant of Walkersville; daughter, Linda Heim and husband David of Frederick; 4 grandchildren, Steven E. Myers and wife Heidi, Kevin E. Myers and fiancée Megan, Connie Heim and Mark Heim; 5 step grandchildren, Calvin Scheetz and wife Angela, William Scheetz and wife Kinder, Joshua Scheetz and wife Ami, Steven Flanary Jr. and Zachary Flanary; 3 great grandchildren and one expected in March; 12 step great grandchildren and a brother, John T. Myers and wife Cindy of Union Bridge. He was predeceased by brothers, Roland, Lyman, Benjamin Jr. and James Myers and a grandson, Craig E. Myers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, with Pastor Tom Richard, of Meadow Branch Church of the Brethren, officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Cemetery, near Libertytown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 25.
