Grace Louise Kave, age 67, of Clarksville, TN and formerly of Waynesboro, PA and Hedgesville, WV died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her home. Born January 12, 1951 in Hampstead, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen M. Baugher Kelly. She was the wife of Norman Eugene Kave Sr., her husband of 17 years.
Grace attended Westminster High School and Frederick Community College. She was formerly employed as a supervisor with Chevy Chase Bank in Frederick. She was also a supervisor at the Eastern Ridge Panhandle Training Center in Hedgesville for the mentally and physically handicapped. She was a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church, Marriottsville and while living in Hedgesville, she served as a minister at Jesus’ Angels of Mercy Ministry. Grace enjoyed raising her children at the home near Libertytown; she adopted a horse at Assateague, donated to the Indian children, participated in Relay for Life in Gettysburg to help fight cancer and played bass guitar in a band, sharing music with residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Marie Butts of Dickson, TN, Linda Louise and Bob Hall of Gettysburg, PA and Angela Louise and Anthony Kramerage of Woodbine; daughter-in-law, Michelle Johnson of Westminster; stepsons, John Lewis Kave of Winchester, VA and Norman Eugene Kave Jr. of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren, Michael Myers, Michael Barwick, Tori and Tyler Johnson, William Masser, S. Therese Klingensmith and Lilly Kave; great grandchildren, Helen, Hannah and Joshua Minnich, Anthony and Matthew Kramerage, Tanner and Paislee Klingensmith, Kaiden and Carson Beatty, Aiden, Ashlyn and Aubry Myers and due in March, Charlie Ember Mae Masser; brother, Paul Boone of Westminster and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, David Johnson and sister, Pauline Stonesifer.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown. Interment will follow in Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 6.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
