Obituary for Betty Louise Gruber

Betty Louise Gruber, age 73, of Woodsboro, died Monday, June 26, 2017 after a brief illness at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born August 2, 1943 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Winfield Scott and Pearl Virginia Curfman Rippeon. She was the wife of Carroll I. Gruber, her husband of 56 years.
Betty’s favorite color was blue, please dress casual and wear blue in her memory. She was the youngest of 13 children.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters, Carol Beard and husband Steve of Woodsboro, Debbie Barney and husband Al of Claremont, MN and Sharon Price and husband Michael of Harpers Ferry, WV; sisters, Agnes Fogle and Jean Baker; and brother Bill Rippeon; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, Sunday, July 2 from 3 to 7 p.m.
A graveside service will be held Monday, at 11:00 a.m. at Rocky Hill Cemetery, 10825 Coppermine Rd., Woodsboro with Rev. Tim Webster officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartzler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 249, New Windsor, MD 21776, to help defray funeral expenses or New Midway Fire Co., P.O. Box 67, New Midway, MD 21775.
