Obituary for Anna Mae Nevius

Anna Mae Nevius, age 83, of Westminster, died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Seasons Hospice at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore. Born August 12, 1934 in Pleasant Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Grace Werner Sullivan. She was the wife of William “Bill” H. Nevius III who died in 2010.
Anna Mae was a 1952 graduate of Manchester High School, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, New Windsor and a former member of the Carroll County Farm Bureau. She was formerly employed with Black and Decker of Hampstead and Towson for 42 years. She enjoyed cross-stitch, traveling, Maryland Terrapins men’s basketball, bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are daughter, Cindy Hughes of Buffalo, WY; son, Michael A. Nevius and wife Debbie of New Windsor; 6 grandchildren, Eric Stonesifer and wife Alicia, Bradley Stonesifer and wife Emily, Wesley Stonesifer and wife Elizabeth, Amanda McGrew and husband Michael, Justin Nevius and wife Kelly and Jennifer Gallagher and husband Derrick; great grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Nora Stonesifer; Thelma and Bernadette Stonesifer; William and Alexandra Stonesifer; Connor and Erin McGrew and Amelia Nevius; sister, Joyce Caldwell of Hanover, PA; brother, David Sullivan of New Oxford, PA; brother-in-law, Jack E. Nevius of Westminster and sister-in-law, Nelda Kellenberger of Spring Grove, PA. She was predeceased by son-in-law, Bill Hughes; half-brother, Bob Kellenberger; sisters-in-law, Nancy Sullivan and Mary Jane Nevius and brother-in-law, Carl Caldwell.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 12 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, with cousin, Rev. Melvina Strickland, retired Lutheran pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 11.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Co., 2030 Pleasant Valley Rd., Westminster, MD 21158 or to Seasons Hospice at Sinai Hospital, 2401 W. Belvedere Ave., Baltimore, MD 21215.
